Bauhaus VS Ikea

Bauhaus is very influential even before it was started this is because of the style that they use is very modern. The Bauhaus has designed and produced some furniture’s like chairs and tables keeping their style the same as the images below proves this. Straight lines are mainly use on the designs the idea of these is to make them affordable. The images below are the example furniture that Bauhaus produced over the years. Simplicity is one of the main ideas that Bauhaus has keep using simple bold lines making them to be the main influence of modern art before and today.

Although some of the furniture that they have produced looks uncomfortable in the fact that straight lines make up the structure of the design and the edges look sharp which could cause discomfort when setting down. Take the two images above for example, imagine sitting down on this chairs and leaning back which will definitely hurt your back because there is no cushion or anything soft that will support your back. Even though it looks uncomfortable, it's still accessible to the people that people want to buy these items and possibly as show pieces because it looks very modern and easy access to move them anywhere the house.

comparing these two images they both have different purpose because they have different style, the foldable chair has the idea of it being movable, lighter, accessible and take less space of the room. In addition, this item can be move anywhere the house, which also can bring with you outside like going to the beach. On the other hand, the other chair can take a lot of space, heavier than the foldable chair, and inaccessible.

However, Bauhaus has made some comfortable and accessible furniture again keeping the style the same. They made this furniture foldable so that it has different purposes that can be chair or bed which on that time I did not expect that the idea is that present.

Ikea is one of the famous modern day companies that produces furniture like chairs and tables. Most of their products are simple but unique like the image on the left, this is one of the products that Ikea has to offer. It is a very straightforward design but its modern and affordable. This style I feel has been influenced from The Bauhaus because it's in the same style and has the same principles of it being affordable for the people. Also, the concept is the same that its accesable for everyone.

Here are more designs from Ikea that relates to the style of the Bauhaus. i noticed that their designs quite the same as the Bauhaus taken the idea from them being accesable, simple and cheap.
